About Me

Growing up in the rural south, god is everywhere. With churches on every corner, both in order and in disrepair, it’s hard to travel far without thinking of god. My favorite subjects to photograph are churches and religious iconography. Having been raised in the church, I no longer associate with it. A broader theme I would like to explore with my art would be conveying my experience growing up secretly queer in a religious institution and growing into a transgender adult.

Popular themes in my current work are of a gothic nature. Churches, cemeteries, buildings in state of disrepair. I also now have a love of Autumn in New England as I have always loved all things spooky.

Photographers and artists that inspire my work are Matt Mahurin, Lee Jefferies, Mothmeister, Diane Arbus, Ralph Eugene Meatyard and Robert Maplethorpe. Maat Maurin especially, who has done work with my favorite musical artists Ghost, Tom Waits, and Metallica.
